Kino Maurice

Know about Kino?

Know about Kino? Kino started in Montreal [Kino Montréal] in 1999 as a dare between a motley crue of filmmakers. They’d spent all this time honing their skills and the world was about to come to an end in 2000. They made a pact to make a film every month until the inevitable end. But the end never came so they had to carry on with new short films every month.

From there Kino spread around the world, with Kino cells popping up in Russia, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Peru, Mexico, Finland, Czech Republic, Burkina Faso, Australia, Reunion Island and Mauritius.

Kino Kabaret Maurice 2015 à L’Institut Français de Maurice

This Kabaret is a short film-making marathon of 32 hours. We will start shooting on Friday 9 at 9:30am and end with a screening at L’Institut Français at 7pm on Saturday night 10 January. The participants will get only two days to SHOOT, EDIT and SCREEN. The challenge will be to work with very limited time but with unlimited imagination and help from other participants.

The motto of the kabaret is “Bien Faire Avec Peu”. The short films will be less than 5 minutes each and be as various as in media and style.
